What is ASP?

ASP is the secure delivery of application software over the Internet. It provides for a managed services solution that utilises the specialist expertise within the e-know.net team. In particular it takes away the day-to-day hassle of having to manage an internal IT infrastructure.

An Introduction to e-know.net’s ASP service:

Our service scope provides for a fully managed service option based on an ASP platform. An ASP solution is based on four key concepts.

1. Firstly, the user will not require servers locally on site that need maintaining and backing up. All servers are supplied and hosted by e-know.net and looked after and maintained by the e-know.net technical team. This removes from the user the day-to-day hassle of administering and maintaining their IT systems. It also removes the need for the client to have to continually invest in server technology and capital equipment.
2. Secondly, users access their systems via the Internet. They sign on to their desktop through the Internet which in turn means that their systems can be accessed from any location. This could be from home, from a customer site, on holiday, in fact anywhere with an Internet connection. This connection flexibility is provided without the need to invest in expensive wide area networks.
3. Thirdly, users will always have access to the latest technologies without having to continually invest and research into technological developments that may have become available since their initial investment, that may then be necessary to install and purchase in order to maintain their competitive business edge. The customers can use e-know.net as their IT department, sharing with e-know.net the plans for their business enabling
   e-know.net to advise and guide on the solutions available to them.
4. Fourthly, management are freed from the hassle of day to day involvement in IT infrastructure fixing and can thus concentrate on their core business discipline.

In summary these four concepts are essentially the removal of IT hassle and policing from within an organisation, an increase in the flexibility of the way employees work and assurance that the latest technologies are always readily available, whist enabling management to continue with their normal business activity.
